I think the one thing that attracts me to furniture making is the amazing diverisity in differnt things we can make. There is not question that "seating projects" are more difficult for me, and this project started out that way. The idea came from a picture I had been saving for many years, then I discovered AFTER I built it, that the picure came from woodworking magazine article from decades ago ... but still a lovely project.

My version is similar, but actual measurements are not the same, and there are some design changes I made that I will talk about later on here ...

Before I get too far ahead of myself, I need to create the table top because I need something for the legs to attach to. A bistro table is a perfect starter and the one am making will be a "knock down" version, which means I can take it apart for easy storage during the winter months when I would not get use and would be subjected to harsh winter weather.

I keep telling myself I will get around to doing everything, I just need a bit more time, so the last several days I was able cross another item of my list of things to makes ... but this one was special, and experiment of sorts.

I have become more interested in furniture that has a "bit of life to it" as one of my friends described, by that he meant using different species of wood, and colors to make the furniture more interesting. I really hate it when I make woodworking mistakes because I waste time fixing something that is my own fault. Sometimes it's from rushing though a task other times I can just plain mixed up with what I am doing so even making a mistake once or twice prompts me to try and come up with a solution so maybe I can prevent it in the future ...

Making tables, regardless of the joiner is one of those times where you have similar looking items but that all fit in different areas and sometimes need to fit in a special way to sometimes take a away from defects in the wood, and always try to show it's best side.

I'm not sure if a Stool is actually a "Tool" but for this exercise I am making it so. For a few years now I have been using an old Bar Stool in my workshop beside my laptop computer. I use the stool enough for zoom meeting and just Internet browsing for information that it has become a mainstay in my workshop.

One of the features of this old stool is that it has some lower rungs that I sometimes try to stand on to reach things high up in my shop, like changing light bulbs or other audio wires or adjustments but never put full weight on the rungs as I don't trust them.
