Congratulations on your new table saw Patriot!!

I haven't seen the Kobalt saw you speak of. Lowes near me has never had one on the floor to look over. I'm sure it will serve you well. Can't wait to see your 1st project on it!!

Look around the web for table saw jigs & fixtures. There are a LOT of them & they make woodworking easier & more enjoyable. Look around here for Colin's videos too. They are well thought out & very helpful!!

A little late perhaps, but hopefully it is OK...
I bought this Lowes' saw on sale near Black Friday for $167. It seems to be pretty good except for the fence, but not surprising. The fence needs to be aligned when moved, if using the clamps (2), but once aligned can be adjusted using the sliding part of the table to the right and retains adjustment. My fence is not perpendicular to table, but I'm not sure if that is so important normally.

This is my first table saw, and after doing everything with a circular saw, it's a pleasure. It was intimidating at first, but I've learned how to be safe and pay attention, and feel it's a good buy for me. First real project was a crosscut sled.

Also, it's made by Delta (basically 6020). The Delta zero-clearance insert works fine - ordered it from Home Depot much cheaper than Lowes.
