I am looking for the best method to cut thousands of (4 to 6 inch diameter) 1/4" plywood discs. Half of these discs will need a 1 1/2" hole cut in the center as well. Any machine that you know of capable of the mass cutting/production of these discs? Thank-you for any advice, Steve

Ouch ... that's a lot of discs. I guess I would need more info, like are you going to be selling these, i.e. is there a cost involved, or is this some project you are working on. What I guess I need to know, do you have some sort of a budget in mind for making these things? Also wondered about the quality, do these need to be fine or is rough ok?
My first though would be to do these on a drill press, but it will take a special bits and set-ups for each size. I may cost you some money to have the bits made, but then you are also going to need to re-sharpen them at some point.

My second thought would be CNC. I think, depending on what the project is, I would seriously consider seeing what it would cost to have someone with a BIG CNC machine cut these out.

Lastly, you could do these yourself with a router by making a template, you will likely go through a few bits, but depending on the quality you need, might be the best choice ... won't be the fastest, but will give the finest cut edges.

Hope this helps give you some ideas
