Note:
All cuts are made from the front side once the jig
has been clamped in place.

1st cut is made by pressing against the left hand side.

2nd cut is made by pressing against the right hand side.
This is to prevent tear out.

All Parts are made from 3/4" Baltic Birch Plywood for stability.

This is a great idea for cutting dados with a router. Of course the problem with ALL plywood is that it is manufactured slightly undersize on purpose. This jig solves that problem perfectly by using the shelf as the "measuring point" then setting the jig accordingly. The router bit to use with this jig as David Cooksey has stated is the pattern cutter bit with the bearing closest to the router's collett, not the one with the bearing at the bottom of the bit.
Excellent working idea !!!! Quick and easy ...
